Gloved hands mashing mofongo in a wooden pilón in the Kokí kitchen
Mofongo in the making.

ROOTED IN PUERTO RICO · EST. 2016

Our story

Kokí began in 2016 as a dream shared between friends, shaped by the flavors and memories of Puerto Rico, our home. What started as conversations, recipes, and late-night ideas grew into a kitchen built on passion, creativity, and community. We honor the traditions we were raised on while adding our own spin, bringing familiar flavors to life in new ways.

Kokí is more than food. It is the friendship that sparked it, the island that inspired it, and the dream that finally found its home.

Tradition in the kitchen

Our cooking starts with the food of Puerto Rico: mofongo worked in a pilón, pernil roasted low and slow, and soft sobao bread. Those foundations leave plenty of room for creativity. You’ll find familiar island dishes alongside empanada fillings, sandwiches, and signature plates that let us try something of our own. We want a meal here to feel familiar to someone who grew up with Puerto Rican food and give someone tasting it for the first time a reason to come back.

At home in Morrisville

Our place on Chapel Hill Road in Morrisville is casual enough for an everyday lunch, with a menu that gives you reasons to make it a regular stop. Come for a plate of mofongo, pick up empanadas to share, or settle in for a meal with family. Beyond the restaurant, we still bring our kitchen to yours through catering and the food truck. However you join us, you’re part of the next chapter of Kokí.
